Directives of PNG NICTA (National Information and Communication Technology Authority) require all customers to register SIM cards. Apart from it being a mandatory requirement, registering your SIM card allows you to safeguard your SIM card and will ease verification for SIM replacements at a later date.
Visit a SIM registration point closest to you. Remember to bring your ID card along and the phone together with the SIM card that you wish to register. The SIM registration agent will collect your details and register your SIM. The agent will then capture images these following information:
- The Valid ID Card (Passport, NID, Driver's License, Work ID)
- The Individual (a photo of you as the owner of the SIM card)
It is a regulatory requirement. We must have some form of ID and we have made the list of applicable IDs as wide as possible. If you do not have an ID, a letter from a reputable person will suffice. We are unable to provide a sim card without an ID or letter.
